6 April 1999 Lab 3 will be available on friday. A worked solution is available for lab1. If you find any errors please let me know.
29 Mar 1999 I think that there is a possible error in the lab. Part II question 4 refers to question 4 above. I think it should be refering to question 3 of part II. I also think that in question 4 of part one that really we should be doing a test of beta_1=1 and beta_2=0, since this will actually give us an appropriate F-distribution. I am willing to here arguments to the contrary.

Week 2: Friday 29 or Mon 1st
Problems from sections 7.3, 7.4. 7.5 (possibly 7.6).
Week 3: Friday 5th or Mon 8th
Problems from sectiom 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3. Also I may discuss briefly using the computer system.
Weel 4: Friday 12th
Problems from section 9.1, 9.2, 9.3 (most of this stuff is revisionary linear algebra I think)
Week 5: Friday 19 or Monday 22
Problems from section 9.4, 9.5, 9.6. Remember there is a midterm coming up on Thursday.
Week 6: Friday 26 or Monday 1
Lab 1 Handed out: Discuss Splus.
Week 7: Friday 5 or Monday 8
Midterm handed back and discussed. Any questions related to lab 1. Some problems from section 10.1-10.3.

Labs will be available from me at my office hour on Friday 10-12 and at the Friday and Monday tutorials. Also they will become available on this webpage by about noon on the day that they are handed out. The Labs will be due by 4pm on the due date. You may hand them to me at the friday section, at an office hour or take them to the front office and get them to place them in my mailbox.
